Noelle - Our Little Darling

Wednesday, May 28, 2008

Alright, I'm going through all our pictures and decided that we need to have a post dedicated to pictures of Noelle. She is such a spark plug. Yes, lately she has definitely done her darnedest to earn the nickname "Drama Queen", but she will always be my Sugar Bear.

IT WORKED AGAIN!!!

You know all about it... "The Secret"... sending your sweetest desires out into the cosmos... the prophetess... Oprah ... and apparently there are parties where you can "manifest" your desires too... Well, desire #2 has been answered!!!

KRISPY KREME IS BACK IN ARIZONA!!!

After having to endure the closings of some of our most frequented Krispy Kreme establishments (Philadelphia, PA; Brick, New Jersey; Chandler, AZ), Krispy Kreme has returned to the Valley of the Sun. If you absolutely must get in touch with of me and I'm not picking up my cell phone, you can find me at the crossroads of Power Road and Baseline, salivating in front of the "HOT NOW" sign at 10:30pm. Between Krispy Kreme and Jersey Mike's, I've already started a savings account for my quadruple bypass in 2011. If you'd also like to contribute, paypal me.

Alright, I've been Tagged. Here it goes...

Fathers & Sons Outing

Sunday, May 11, 2008

The weekend of May 2-3, Lincoln and I went on our first official Fathers & Sons Outing with John and his boys (John's ward). The location was Woods Canyon Lake which is about 25 miles northeast of Payson, AZ, just above the Mogollon Rim (pronounced mo-GEE-on).

We had all the ingredients of a great camp out: dutch-oven cobbler, roasting marshmallows, gorgeous weather, etc. Lincoln had a great time roaming the forest with his cousins and throwing snowballs (yes, snowballs in AZ in May) and rocks into the lake - which greatly amused all the fishermen. I've read somewhere that 90% of forest fires are started by unsupervised campfires on Fathers & Sons Outings. After this weekend, this statistic is hard to refute.

I still have memories of going camping with my family in my parent's VW Bus. Camping has always been a big part of the "Coleman" family and Woods Canyon Lake was one of our favorite camping destinations. The tradition continues.
